Finding CDs in the Library

  1. Do a Library of Congress Subject search on the words "CDs".
  2. This will generate a list of all our CDs.
  3. If you are interested in listening to, say, John Coltrane, click on the "Limit this Search" button and, from the drop down box, choose "Words in Author" and type "Coltrane".
  4. Click on the gray bar at the bottom of the screen, and you should get a list of all the CDs we own by John Coltrane.

We now subscribe to Naxos Music Library  and DRAM, the Database of Recorded American Music which stream music.

Finding DVDs or Videos in the Library

  1. Do a Library of Congress Subject search on either "DVDs" or "videos".
  2. This will generate a list of all our holdings in either medium.
  3. If you are interested in watching, say, the first season of the Mary Tyler Moore Show, click on the "Limit this Search" button and, from the drop down box, choose "Words in Title" and type "Mary Tyler Moore".
  4. Click on the gray bar at the bottom of the screen, and you should get the call number of that particular DVD set.
Similarly, if you wanted a list of our videos or DVDs, do a subject search on "videos" (or "DVDs") and limit that list by, for example, "Words in Subject" "dance". This will give you a list of all the dance videos we own.

We now subscribe to Theatre in Video which streams theatrical performances.
